Relapse Prevention
The Relapse Prevention Group helps women recognize the symptoms associated with drug and alcohol addiction and relapse, understand the triggers for relapse, and learn strategies for avoiding them. Women also learn the medical effects of a variety of drugs and ways to cope with those effects. This is a support group intended to supplement other efforts that participants are making to avoid relapse. We encourage participants to also take part in a 12-step recovery program or some other peer support program and to seek counseling and medical attention when appropriate. The group is open to any woman in recovery. Newly recovering women should attend for at least six months.
